Nostalgic weed piece gets hardcore makeover

stundenglass review

There are nostalgic traditions in the cannabis space– like knife hits and gravity bongs. These Millennial stoner crafts often used things found in the average home. As this group aged from teens to parents, high-end cannabis accessories companies designed products that call back to these creations. One of the most popular is the Stundenglass Gravity Infuser, a legendary double-barreled water cannon with a small army of nifty attachments. This Stundenglass review covers the full suite of products from the original Infuser to the newer docked Modül.

Stundenglass released its first Gravity infuser ($600) five years ago. Since then, the company opened up the line to include celebrity-branded versions, the miniature Kompact, and the Modül ($350), which can turn the gravity infuser into a dab rig and dry herb vaporizer with precise temperature settings.

What to know about Stundenglass

The original Stundenglass can be used with infuser tobacco and flavor or cannabis flower. It has a straw-shaped mouthpiece on one side of the contraption and a bowl piece on the other. Those who regularly clean and maintain their infuser will enjoy fresh and flavorful hits from this luxury weed staple. With the brand-made tutorials and artfully simple design, this brand offers an adequate piece for beginners and longtime stoners.

Stundenglass classic is available in the original black colorway or a handful of collaborations like a trippy Khalifa infuser, a few Grateful Dead options, and more. The Kompact, a tinier version of the setup, might be better for beginners who desire smaller hits.

Let’s break down the user experience of the full Stundenglass product suite.

Stundenglass Infuser Review

Each Stundenglass comes in a configuration that has a percolator screwed in on both sides. This makes it so that the piece pulls from the bowl and pushes out the smoke with each turn. Change out one or both so smoke is forced into each for a deeper pull. They easily screw on and off, provided the piece is well maintained.

The double percolator hit may be intense enough for many. The Stundenglass consists of a bowl piece, a mouthpiece, two glass bulbs, and a metal connector where the bulbs can be screwed in.

Fire is held to a packed bowl as the bulbs are turned. This brings the water to the top, which pulls the flame through the bowl, filling the air left in the infuser with smoke. Flip it again, and the smoke pours from the mouthpiece. No need to put lips directly to the mouthpiece, either.

Hits from the original and Kompact infusers pull thick, white smoke that may feel too intense for some. Stop it from pouring out by pushing the bulbs parallel to the floor and rest before clearing the bulb or passing it to the next person. The main component is only one part of the Stundenglass culture. There are tons of accessories and customizations.

Modül exudes extract brilliance

The Modül is a brilliant attachment to dab through the Stundenglass. It has an easy-to-read screen that can be color-customized anywhere from 392 to 932 degrees Fahrenheit with the push of a button. Switch out for the dry herb tank. The device heats with 80 watts of power. The battery is said to last 50 hits, which is good because there is no pass-through charging.

Extract sesh time starts at 40 seconds but can increase to a minute. Dry herb vapes for up to 30 seconds. Once everything is dialed in, scroll through the options and select the flame on the screen. It heats to just under 500 degrees Fahrenheit in about 12 seconds. A dab for one person might not fill each chamber with milky white vapor, but it could certainly get a person stoned.

The Modül can also be used in the Dok, which is sold separately. It is a literal dock for a glass percolator mouthpiece and the vaporizer unit to fit together nicely and sit on a tabletop. Those who love extra doodads will enjoy being a part of the Stundenglass family.

The Dok is not the only thoughtful add-on. There is an infuser wall mount, special bulbs like a colored pineapple, branded ash catchers, and the Modül Dok glass comes in special colors.

Stundenglass Infuser: fun for all

Weed newbies who want a showstopping piece will appreciate the Stundenglass as much as the seasoned connoisseurs who used to hit a two-liter bottle gravity bong in their kitchens in 2008. The luxury piece is for anyone who loves cannabis–or a stunt.
