Scary Movie 6 leans hard into weed culture with latest promos
Whether it’s fast food, fashion, or film merch, brands love pandering to their biggest fans. Cannabis consumers have become a coveted audience for mainstream brands, including chains like Jimmy John’s and Wingstop. The Scary Movie franchise is the latest to lean into its stoner audience, dropping not one but two weed-friendly campaigns in the run-up to the release of Scary Movie 6.

The first is a limited-edition collaboration with the dry-herb vape brand Pax. The collab features the Pax Four emblazoned with the Scary Movie antagonist Ghostface, wrapped in co-branded custom packaging that celebrates both brands. The device is available while supplies last.
To celebrate the unique partnership, Pax is producing a four-part web series called Don’t Kill, Just Chill. According to a press release, the series follows Ghostface and company through “absurdly chill scenarios powered by Pax,” leaning hard into the franchise’s slasher-comedy chaos.
The cannabis hardware maker is also planning a special screening of Scary Movie 6 on June 5th in Los Angeles.
“Scary Movie is iconic. It defined an era of comedy and carved out a lasting place in cannabis culture with the kind of unforgettable moments people still quote decades later,” said Laura Fogelman, chief of staff at Pax, in a statement sent to GreenState. “More than a brand collaboration, we were thrilled for the opportunity to celebrate the film and the return of the original cast in a way that felt authentic to its legacy.”

As if a Ghostface vape weren’t enough, the franchise also teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket. The unconfirmed collectible features the base and stem filled with popcorn, complete with a downstem bowl of melted butter.
Limited-edition theater merch has exploded in popularity, from the viral Super Mario Galaxy Movie Yoshi egg bucket to multiple Mandalorian and Grogu popcorn pails. The bong bucket is likely a promotional gag — exactly the kind of over-the-top parody the franchise built its reputation on.
Between the real Pax collab and the probably-fake bong bucket, Scary Movie is making it clear exactly who this marketing push is for. It makes sense; cannabis jokes have been baked into the franchise’s DNA since the early films. Clearly, the team behind Scary Movie 6 knows its audience is ready for one last hit.
