What is a HerbSaver Grinder?

The HerbSaver Grinder looks like a combination between a small bottle and a grinder. Just like any other grinder, it grinds down your favorite hemp and cannabis products into powder form, which then allows you to use it for rolling joints, blunts, and more.

As mentioned above, it has one special feature that sets it apart from many of other grinders out there.

This is a small compartment at the bottom that actually holds onto your herb that has been ground. This might sound like an exceedingly simple and common sense feature for grinders to have, but many just don’t have it.

How Does a HerbSaver Grinder Work?

This is a really simple grinder. Just like with any other grinder, you put your buds in the top section with all of the teeth, close the lid, and then turn the lid back and forth.

The herb falls through the holes below the teeth and is conveniently stored in the storage section. There’s also a mesh screen below, which helps to separate the crystals or trichomes, so you can collect the kief in the bottom compartment.

HerbSaver Grinder Review

Now that you know the basics of the HerbSaver Grinder review, let’s take a quick look at its main features.

About the Brand

HerbSaver is a brand that specializes in creating a variety of cannabis and hemp products and accessories, mainly this particular grinder, which is actually quite awesome. It’s just a simple brand based in the USA which makes a variety of cannabis accessories.

Overall Design

We like the overall design of this unit. There is a small version that comes in at 2.5 inches tall and a larger version that comes next at 3.8 inches. We personally really like the smaller version for portability’s sake because it’s more than small enough to easily fit in your pocket.

That said, if you need to grind up and store a lot of herbs at once, then the larger option is the better one. Other than that, it has a fairly basic design. It kind of looks like a pill bottle combined with a grinder. On a side note, it also comes in well over a dozen different, very bright colors to choose from, including a glow-in-the-dark container. It’s not exactly the most discreet tool in the world, but hey, it’s small enough to hide easily.

Materials

Something many people will like about this grinder is that it is made out of medical-grade propylene plastic that is free of BPA and is also made with recycled materials. It might just be made out of plastic, but at least it is recycled, it’s relatively ecologically friendly.

It should also be relatively safe and healthy due to not containing any BPA’s. As far as durability is concerned, the plastic used here is quite strong. It is impact and scratch resistant, so it should be able to handle a few bumps and drops. That said, it is just plastic, so you do need to be careful with it.

Speaking of plastic, yes, the teeth there are also made out of plastic, although the type of plastic used here should allow the teeth to stay sharp for quite some time. However, whether or not these teeth are as good as much more expensive metal grinder teeth is questionable. You do also get a stainless steel pollen screen desk. But do keep in mind that the sub $15 price tag here is well-justified, and you can’t really expect stainless steel teeth in this price range.

Ease of Use

There’s really nothing you need to know about using this grinder. You just put your herb in the top compartment, twist the lid a few times, and you’re good to go. It’s no easier or harder to use than other grinders.

Cleaning

Cleaning this grinder is also easily done. Some people may choose to just soak it in some isopropyl alcohol to loosen up any stuck-on debris.

You could also just use a small brush, scraping tool, or anything else of the sort. Grinders like this tend to be fairly easy to clean. Although, keep in mind that because it’s made out of plastic, it may eventually start to stain.

The HerbSaver Grinder has a few features worth mentioning, so let’s do this quickly.

  •       The super sharp grinding teeth should make very quick work out of even the stickiest of hemp and cannabis buds.
  •       This unit features a friction-fit mesh screen that is easy to remove and put back in for easy cleaning. This screen separates your ground herb from the crystals so that you can create a little kief collection in the bottom section.
  •       The storage area in both sizes of grinder is fairly large, so you should be able to store a couple of grams at the very least.
  •       This grinder is said to be odor resistant and water resistant, and quite durable overall.
  •       The lid on the HerbSaver Grinder features a magnetic closure, just so it doesn’t open up on its own.
  •       You even get a small scraper tool included with your purchase for easy cleaning.

Pros

  •       Many colors
  •       Two sizes
  •       Affordable price
  •       Very sharp teeth
  •       Magnetic lid closure
  •       Plenty of storage for ground herb
  •       Kief compartment
  •       Scraper included

Cons

  •       Larger model is a bit bulky
  •       The plastic teeth will get dull eventually

Benefits of the Herb Saver Grinder

The biggest benefit of this grinder is its storage capabilities. Instead of having to pour your ground herb into another container, you can just leave it right in this grinder.

There is also the fact that it has sharp teeth that turn any herb or cannabis into a fine powder with relative ease. The grinder itself is also quite durable and functional, not to mention affordable as well.

HerbSaver Grinder Review Overall Impressions

The bottom line here is that the HerbSaver Grinder is quite an ingenious grinder. Although it’s not the biggest or most groundbreaking innovation of the last decade, it does serve a real purpose.

It holds onto your herb after it’s been ground, an issue that is seemingly simple, yet the vast majority of other grinders out there don’t solve. This alone makes us think that it’s worth the investment. We hope that this Herb Saver Grinder review has helped you come closer to a decision!
