Retailers across the country are teaming up with animal rescues for adoption events throughout the month, giving shoppers a chance to meet dogs looking for homes while supporting local organizations. From a Mean Girls-themed gathering to a Halloween costume contest, here are three cannabis dispensaries going to the dogs this October.

Kaya Bliss, New York City

A Mean Girls-themed dog adoption event? That’s so fetch. Brooklyn’s Kaya Bliss is teaming with pre-roll brand Dogwalkers and nonprofit Rescue City to help nearly a dozen adoptable dogs find their new families. The event takes place from 11 am to 4 p.m., and guests are encouraged to wear pink. If you are considering adopting an animal, organizers ask you to fill out an application ahead of time.

Green Rainbow Dispensary, Las Vegas

Green Rainbow is hosting “Rescue Buds” on October 4th from 11 am to 1 pm. Volunteers from Hearts Alive Village Animal Rescue will have adoptable pups in store to meet, and you can fill out an application if you see the dog of your dreams. Fees vary, but all dogs come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

The Joint Venture, Medford, NY

If you want your dog adoption event to have a Halloween flair, Pick & Treat at the Joint Venture dispensary in Medford, NY is for you. Happening on October 31 from 12 pm to 3 pm, the event features vendors, a pet photo opportunity, and plenty of adoptable dogs from NY Bully Crew to meet. Bring your pet along for a costume contest and meet a new friend along the way. The dispensary is taking care of all adoption fees- talk about a win-win.

Thousands of dogs are waiting to find their people. These cannabis dispensaries are helping a few of them along the way. If you’re inspired to help an animal near you, head to the ASPCA website to find adoptable dogs in your area.
