Some ballparks are selling hemp – here’s how to get high without breaking the rules

It is the season for hot dogs, ball games–and weed? That last part is not really on the menu since every ballpark bans smoking cannabis. Portland Pickles fans have been enjoying Cycling Frog hemp beverages for a year. Wrigley Field also announced a partnership with Mynd hemp drinks in 2023. Those who do not live in these locations will have to settle for finding ways to get high that stick within stadium rules.

While we do not believe in breaking rules, certain tips and tricks can help people enjoy a little weed while they watch the game. These consumption methods and tech can help keep the weed working into extra innings.

BYO-Edibles

Eating edibles is the most inconspicuous way to consume cannabis. Gummies are a popular go-to, but infused foods come in all flavors and shapes. Find the right snack, and consider bringing enough to re-up if the game goes into extras. Do not try an edible for the first time at the ballpark, though.

Have a control test at home or another safe place with each edible before eating them in public. Some gummies hit late, and other infused foods can have intense effects. It is best to find out before being surrounded by a stadium of people shouting over a loudspeaker when a new high kicks in.

Edibles can fly under the radar, but overconsumption does not. Do not eat too much THC at a ball game. It could get a person kicked out of the stadium or worse, into a dangerous situation.

Vape

Vape pens kick in quickly and are not as intense as an edible. Add in that they smell and call attention far less than smoking. It appears to be the most viable inhalable option for baseball season. However, security and other stadium officials may be against this. Vaping cannabis products could even violate some rules. This is a vape-at-your-own-risk situation.

Use a personal filter

People who want to vape despite anti-smoking rules may grab a personal smoke filter like the MJ Arsenal Houdini or the Sploofy. These handheld devices filter smoke out of the air. Blow smoke into the filter, and nothing comes out; the same goes for vapor. These discreet gadgets are useful but won’t protect you from breaking the rules, so it’s advised to keep the inhalation off-site.

Welcome summer with all the fixins

Shuffling into the stadium gates, getting concessions, feeling the sun beat down, and hearing the crack of a bat all bring thoughts back to being at a ball game. Americans love baseball and lately, weed, too. This year, there are some sly ways to enjoy both in the summer sun. Remember to respect your neighbor and not hotbox shared space.
