Derry Brett is the founder of Barney’s Farm Genetics, a globally recognized cannabis seed bank based in Amsterdam. With nearly 40 years of experience, his work spans early landrace seed collection across regions of Asia and the Middle East, followed by decades of selective breeding and genetic stabilization. Originally trained in agricultural environments in Ireland, Brett developed his approach through hands-on field observation, long-term phenotypic selection, and practical breeding work rather than formal laboratory pathways. His work has contributed to the development and preservation of some of the most widely used cannabis genetic lines in the modern industry.
