Surprising destination to become weed getaway

Visitors flock to a vacation getaway in the heart of Missouri, known as the Lake of the Ozarks region. Families, couples, and adventurers travel to the area for watersports, hiking, fishing, cave exploring, and now cannabis. The state legalized cannabis in 2022, and legal sales started the following year. Now it is about to be home to the first full-on cannabis-friendly resort in the midwestern U.S.

Lifted Lodging is officially coming to Camdenton, Missouri, after purchasing Lake Breeze Resort and Marina. The company takes over the property in July. They announced plans to spend the summer reimagining the property as an immersive cannabis vacation experience with hopes of opening in September.
“We chose the Lake of the Ozarks region and Missouri for our first location for several reasons,” Lifted Lodging founder Lisa Liberman said in a press release. “As a coast-to-coast cannabis traveler myself, I have not found many friendly lodging options in the Eastern half of the U.S.”
Liberman launched the business with Foxhole Hospitality, a professional hospitality firm, and Cooper Creative Co., experts in cannabis marketing. The companies intend to create a relaxing, vibrant network of weed-friendly lodgings. Missouri does not allow cannabis lounges or public consumption. The resort will stay compliant by only allowing public consumption on private property.
This is the first property Lifted aims to convert into a marijuana monument, and the company is honoring those who get in first.

The Lifted OG Founding Members Program provides discounted rates, free overnight stays, VIP guest baskets, exclusive booking windows, and a branded robe with slippers. This money is going to cover startup costs and engage new locations. The brand website also teases future Arizona, Kentucky, and New York resort acquisitions.
For now, Lifted is focused on creating a lakeside cannabis getaway that stays true to the Lake of the Ozarks culture.
“We offer those guests a welcoming alternative to other overnight options while maintaining the easy, breezy vibe visitors expect at the Lake,” Liberman concluded.
