Can this $120 Puffco add-on replace your dab torch? We tested it

Dabbing has become ubiquitous in cannabis culture, but a divide has emerged between traditionalists and tech-forward consumers. The scene began with glass rigs and blowtorches, then evolved as e-rigs became convenient alternatives. Many concentrate consumers use both. Now, the new Puffco Peak Pro Link aims to bridge that gap.

The accessory lets consumers use the Puffco Peak Pro with their existing glass rigs. It essentially turns the Peak Pro into an electronic nail (e-nail) compatible with most 10 mm and 14 mm glass rigs and water pipes. While it’s hardly the first product of its type, the Link is the first to fit into the Puffco ecosystem.

The Puffco Peak Pro Link explained

As mentioned, the Link is a tool to connect a glass rig to a Puffco Peak Pro. Puffco designed the device for glass enthusiasts who want a streamlined alternative to traditional dabbing—butane blowtorch, temperature gun, timer, isopropyl alcohol rinse, repeat. The Link also maintains more consistent heating throughout a sesh, rather than dropping in temperature after the first hit.

In a video announcing the product, Puffco founder Roger Volodarsky said the Link aligns with the company’s longstanding support of glass artists.

“We always wanted our devices to be a platform for glass artists to showcase their work without the hassle,” he explained.

How does the Puffco Link work?

The Link connects seamlessly to any Puffco Peak Pro, sold separately. Start by removing the Peak Pro’s glass attachment and replacing it with the Link base stand. The base redirects airflow to the Link cable and doubles as a storage stand when not in use.

The Peak Pro Link itself has three components: a 90-degree banger (aka the bowl for your dabs), a 30-inch cable, and a chamber adaptor. Remove the atomizer from the Peak Pro and screw it into the Link banger. Then attach the chamber adaptor to the Peak Pro, where the atomizer would go.

The banger is then paired with your favorite 10 mm or 14 mm glass. Add some extract to the 3DXL chamber, turn on your Puffco Peak Pro, and use the Puffco Connect app or preset temperatures via the power button to activate.

The Link, reviewed

While unboxing the Peak Pro Link, two main questions arose: would it rip, and would the 3DXL atomizer cause any issues? In the past, the team has encountered atomizer connection errors after cleaning, including the white-and-red flashing light that signals a malfunction.

The team tested the device with a piece by artist Matt A., featuring a vintage-bottle design and a 45-degree female downstem. The 45-degree downstem required some adjustment, since the Link comes standard with a 90-degree banger. Hopefully, they introduce a 45-degree adaptor (or include one with future iterations of the product).

Assembly proved to be super quick and easy. The Peak Pro Link locked into place without much trouble and was ready to go in seconds. The team tried two different types of extracts during the test: a 1:1 CBD:THC live resin from Humboldt Terp Council and a Rotten Bananas rosin from The Bryantist.

The live resin was first set at the preset “green” temperature (510°F). The rosin was “red” (530°F). For those seeking a truly intense dab experience, the brand recommends setting the temperature to white (545°F) and enabling “Max Vapor” mode in the app. While we didn’t get that far, we were pleasantly surprised at the performance. In testing, the Link produced dense vapor clouds without excessive heat, likely due to cooling along the cable.

As for the atomizer, there was no trouble. It performed as expected within the Link, and once it was returned to the Peak Pro. Questions remain about longevity and whether regularly swapping between devices would affect the shelf life of the atomizers (we’ll report back after multiple uses).

Puffo Peak Link: A bridge between two worlds

Overall, the Peak Pro Link is a handy tool for people who love heady glass and the Puffco ecosystem. That may be a somewhat small funnel, but anyone tapped into both will likely appreciate the convenience. While there are mixed feelings about the device online, it seems like a logical accessory for the brand to offer. For those new to the Puffco or e-nail world, the price to create the system ($420 for the Peak Pro and $120 for the Peak Pro Link) may be a tad out of reach. But the Puffco devotees in the world will almost surely add this to their arsenal, right next to their collection of hot knives and Ryan Fitt recycler.
