Beloved weed festival announces big-name headliner

Cannifest 2025, hosted by Humboldt Green Events, is coming to Halvorson Waterfront Park on Labor Day Weekend (August 30-31, 2025). And this year, they have some major star power backing them up.
The festival, which is marking its 10-year anniversary, announced its headlining acts on June 20th, creating a lineup “stacked with hip-hop, funk, and reggae vibes from national and international touring artists,” according to a press release. Among the names are LaRussell, PawPaw Rod, and The String Cheese Incident, the iconic Colorado rock band with hits like “Joyful Sound” and “Sometimes a River.”
American rock band Moonalice will open for The String Cheese Incident along with Bella Rayne, a Humboldt, CA native.

The event is open to all ages and features three stages, a 21+ lounge, vendors, and more. It will include the FIZ (Family Interactive Zone), local foods, NorCal’s “Biggest Live Art Wall,” workshops, and games. In between The String Cheese Incident’s two sets, the festival will host the “Yes We Cann Parade,” set to feature drums and dancing.
Humboldt Green Events has hosted cannabis-centered events for over a decade, and also produces the annual Headstash Bowl, a competition for West Coast growers and rosin makers to showcase their skills. Cannifest has seen the likes of New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, and more. The Headstash Bowl is coming back to California in the fall—judges will be able to pick up products at Cannifest, and awards will be announced in October.

Even though Labor Day represents the bitter end of summer for most, it doesn’t have to be the end of (weed-fueled) fun. Between amazing headliners, food, and community, what more could you ask for?
