This cannabis event is putting Latina voices front and center

There are dozens of cannabis events across the country every year, but only a small handful focus on empowerment. Even fewer honor Hispanic culture in the space. Enter the Latinas in Cannabis Summit. Now in its third year, the event, scheduled for September 27th in Los Angeles, aims to celebrate the unique experiences of Latina individuals in the market, cultivate meaningful relationships, and make a positive impact.

Taking place at The River LA in Frogtown, the one-day conference will feature a vibrant mix of educational panels, skill-building workshops, brand activations, creative activities, and lots of weed. Presented by the Latinas in Cannabis community group, the Summit is specifically curated to help attendees thrive professionally and personally. The event is a much-needed breath of fresh air, given the underrepresentation of Latinas in leadership roles in the cannabis industry.
Susie Plascencia, founder and CEO of Latinas in Cannabis, told GreenState the goal of the event is to both uplift attendees while providing actionable insights.
“The Latinas in Cannabis Summit is more than just a conference — it’s where opportunities are created, connections are made, and stigmas are dismantled,” she said.

Plascencia added that while the Summit is occurring during National Hispanic Heritage Month, the scheduling is especially fitting given the shared narratives in both cannabis and Latino communities.
“In times like these, when our industry and our communities are facing both unprecedented growth and ongoing challenges, events like this are critical to ensure Latinas are visible, supported, and empowered to lead,” the entrepreneur noted.
In addition to the learning opportunities and inspiring networking moments, guests will enjoy a number of on-site extracurricular activities. This includes on-site cannabis sales courtesy of Eaze, a cultivation lounge collab with ILGM, and a Puffco dab wagon offering hits of hash crafted by a Latina artisan. Plentiful food and a generous goodie bag will also be provided.

Organizers noted that everyone is welcome at the Summit, and that one doesn’t need to be Latina to participate. Allies are encouraged to join, as the event is sure to offer eye-opening insights and ideas on how to best support the Latina community.
