The seasonal Pineapple Express Shake is back on the Jack in the Box menu for 4/20, and this year the fast food chain is introducing the whole family. This year’s 420 offerings include the Pineapple Express Shake, an iced Pineapple Express Red Bull Infusion, and a Pineapple Express Chicken Sandwich with pineapple barbecue sauce.

The shake features pineapple flavor blended into vanilla-flavored soft serve and topped with the classic whipped cream dollop and a cherry. Like last year, Jack will discount shakes to $4.20 from 4/20-4/24 to celebrate the high holiday. Those that prefer an iced drink will want to check out the Red Bull Infusion of passion fruit and pineapple flavors stirred into the popular energy drink.

Anyone looking for the Chicken Sandwich must travel to participating locations as it’s a limited test item released only in select Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas locations. The sandwich uses its well-known crispy chicken filet topped with Smokey Pineapple BBQ Sauce, fire-roasted pineapples, and hickory smoked bacon.

Pineapple Express air fresheners will be available at Jack in the Box locations for $2 for those planning to spend the day in a plume of cannabis smoke. Proceeds from all air freshener sales will go to the Jack in the Box Foundation–a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit that contributes to the well-being of the surrounding communities where Jack in the Box operates.

The Pineapple Express Family isn’t the first marketing push from the fast food chain geared toward cannabis consumers. In 2017, Jack in the Box introduced a late-night menu comprised of Jack’s Munchie Meals. The four meal boxes each included multiple items catered toward guests after a long night out or a big sesh-in.

The late-night menu featured items like a chicken sandwich topped with mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets drenched in multiple sauces, and other new uses of regular menu items that a high person would likely dream up. Though the Munchie offerings have evolved, the concept has remained popular with patrons. In 2022, the chain expanded its offering with the Mega Munchie box, which includes 45 mini tacos, curly fries, and more.

Members of the Pineapple Express Family will hit specified Jack in the Box locations on 4/20– making them a tasty option for post-celebration snacks.
