It took a year after federal legalization for Canada to legalize infused foods like gummies, candies, and baked goods. Now, Canadian cannabis consumers have a cooler’s worth of options, including the Good Day Iced Tea line from TeaPot. The cannabis-infused beverage company, a Boston Beer Company brand, debuted an infused Mango Green Tea this week. The new flavor is low-dose, non-carbonated, and masks cannabis flavor.

The newest flavor will debut in Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan throughout May. Each can is made with quality tea and includes 5mg of Pedro’s Sweet Sativa, a cultivar available from Entourage Health Corp. brand Color Cannabis.

“We are excited to expand the TeaPot line with the introduction of Mango Green Tea,” said Paul Weaver, Head of Cannabis for The Boston Beer Company, in a press release obtained by GreenState. “Our team has worked hard to create an amazingly smooth, lightly sweetened green tea that complements the natural effects of Pedro’s Sweet Sativa.”

The Boston Beer Company, Inc. marked its entry into the cannabis space in 2021, announcing it would begin researching infused beverages. At that time, the company brought on a new Head of Cannabis, Paul Weaver, who worked previously at cannabis giant Canopy Growth and beverage giant Molson Coors.

“We believe non-alcoholic cannabis beverages could represent a new frontier of innovation and want to be ready for future opportunities in the US,” Boston Beer CEO Dave Burwick said at the time.

The Boston Beer Company also manufactures Truly Hard Cider, Twisted Tea, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Dogfish Head Brewery, and of course, Samuel Adams. Like these products, TeaPot is intended for social use.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., Wine & Spirit Wholesalers of America (WSWA) hope to do the same. The American association publicly urged Congress to regulate the plant like alcohol.

“TeaPot purposefully pairs the right tea with the right pot for the right occasion,” said Paul Weaver, Head of Cannabis at The Boston Beer Company, “Each can is precisely dosed for social gatherings with friends and family. We think TeaPot is the best-tasting cannabis beverage on the market, and we can’t wait for people to try it – we think they’ll agree.”

Canadian cannabis consumers 18 and up can find TeaPot Mango Green Tea and Lemon Black Tea at dispensaries in select provinces.
