Good afternoon.

Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you’re having a relaxing and fulfilling break and soaking up some quality time with family members.

We’re certainly thankful for the last six months of serving up new GreenState stories for you. Looking back on our soft launch on April 20 and the journey since then, we’re humbled by the talented lifestyle writers we’ve managed to get into GreenState and the phenomenal work they’ve done. That includes award-winning food writer Laurie Wolf — who’s given us everything you need to get started as a canna-chef. And our cultivation writer Kevin Oliver, who’s equipped newcomers for growing their own this season and into the winter.

We’re thankful for our elite photographers who’ve taken readers behind the locked gates of California’s leading brands like Harborside Farms, Kiva Confections, Jetty Extracts and Butterbrand. And we’re especially humbled by your feedback on our explainer articles, which include our local law lookup tool and how to buy quality cannabis this harvest season.

People are telling us that we have something exciting and new here that contributes to journalism and society as a whole. We’re thankful to be just getting started. Thanks for giving us a shot and for coming back again and again, and for sharing us with your friends on social media. Thank you to every team member making this change real. — David Downs
