There are more options for infused foods than ever before. From gummies to drinks, the world of THC edibles is ever-expanding. As the market grows, brands are learning what people like and what they will pay for. The economy is contracting as Americans prepare for tariffs and a promised recession, and cannabis companies are looking for ways to capture each valuable dollar.

A recently released edibles report from Azuca shows that if an edible has one quality, it could bring in a third more at the dispensary counter. People are flocking to products that are fast-acting over ones that could take as long as 45 minutes to an hour and a half.

“This research validates what we’ve been seeing firsthand: premium in cannabis is defined by performance, not price,” said Azuca senior vice president of growth Corinne Butler in a press release. “We’re seeing fast-acting products earn top placement because they meet those expectations— and because consumers are willing to pay more for quality and consistency.”

The 2025 Edibles Premiumization Report used verified retail sales data from analytics firm BDSA. It indicated that fast-acting gummies brought in premium pricing and outperformed versions of the candy that take longer to kick in. The BDSA data showed that customers paid 31 percent higher original price and a 39 percent higher rate of sale for fast-acting gummies.

These products were priced the highest and put on discount the least. It is not the most prolific portion of a dispensary menu, but fast-acting gummies generated four to five times more sales per SKU than plain ones. Products that promise fast-acting effects performed better than those that did not.

The portfolios of these companies ranked 100-plus positions higher in BDSA national dollar sales rankings. Despite popularity and success, data shows fast-acting gummies do not overtake all gummy shelf space. Instead, they add to the category, increase overall spending, and attract new consumers.

“Brands launching fast-acting gummies can expect significantly higher sales per product than traditional 100mg non-mood-specific SKUs, which face heavier competition and lower demand.” Katie Rizik, BDSA director of client solutions, concluded in the release.
