Beloved band releases limited edition weed collab

California is undoubtedly one of the weed capitals of the US. From iconic festivals to relatively progressive policies, the state has cemented itself as one of the plant’s fiercest allies and as a great place to cultivate top-tier products. In an iconic California collaboration, NorCal’s URSA Extracts joined Stoopid Strains to launch a limited-edition “Stoopid Fruits” live resin vape cartridge.

Stoopid Strains is owned by Slightly Stoopid, the iconic California band responsible for songs like “2am” and “Closer to the Sun.” The name “Stupid Fruits” is derived from their song “Them Fruits” from their album Slightly Not Stoned to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid.
The sativa-based custom strain was designed with flavor in mind—it’s a cross between Apricot Papaya and Strawberry DQ and is said to have tropical and berry notes. It contains no added terpenes and was made for the sole purpose of being converted to live resin form. The strain was created from Humboldt Seed Company’s genetics; URSA’s extraction team made it into the oil that will appear in the vapes.

This collaboration is a full-bodied homage to California cannabis culture. In a press release, Alexandra Solano, VP of marketing at URSA, said, “Working with Slightly Stoopid and Humboldt Seed Company was the perfect way to honor our Humboldt roots while expanding into SoCal. This isn’t just a branded product—it’s a true California collaboration that starts at the genetic level and ends in a premium and limited edition live resin cartridge.”
The company hopes that this collab, as well as others in the future, will bridge the gap between California’s iconic weed and music scenes. Collabs featuring Cali-centric artists like Iration or groups banding together for counter-culture are just the beginning.
The vape pen was released in select California dispensaries on June 2nd in preparation for Slightly Stoopid’s national tour that began 10 days later.

As weed continues to be married into popular culture, its deep roots in community and entertainment will continue to shine. “Stupid Fruits” is hopefully one in a long line of collaborations between established weed brands and music giants to come.
