Wildfire-stricken California cannabis industry cries out on social media
California's cannabis community is reeling from what's being called the worst season in living memory. The annual harvest turned disastrous Sunday with the outbreak of wildfires in key cannabis production counties Sonoma and Mendocino. As of Wednesday, 22 fires had burned more than 170,000 acres, claiming 21 lives and burning more than 2,000 structures. Hundreds of people have been reported missing, and more fire is expected as high winds return Wednesday night.
Social media savvy cannabis growers, manufacturers, seed sellers, and breeders have been on the front lines of the blazes, transmitting their experiences back to their followers. Here's a collection of what they're reporting.
