Good afternoon!

Halloween is here. The pumpkins are carved. The costumes have arrived. Word of harvest parties are starting to crop up. Over on GreenState we’ve gathered the most stunning images of #croptober from our Instagram feed, and you can’t deny the joy on folks’ faces as they work to bring in this year’s bumper crop.

Adding to the excitement is the announcement of various holiday parties, compounded by the news that key parts of California will, in fact, be open for recreational canna-business on New Year’s Day. All of which means a very swift slide through the holidays and into 2018, with so much work to do between now and then.

Top on our list is finishing up the first-ever GreenState Awards — featuring 250 of California’s most excellent products, services and experiences to try out in the New Year. We distribute it in the print Sunday Chronicle Dec. 17th. I’ve been working the cannabis beat for nine years, and we’ve never had such a detailed map of what’s cool in the Golden State. You’re going to love it — so bookmark us in your browser toolbar, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
